Entry Procedures and Checklist

  • Submit entries online. Create an account.
  • Accuracy of submitted materials is the responsibility of the applicant. These materials will be used in the awards ceremony, presentation, award recognition, and in the media
  • Submit entry fee(s) of $100+HST per submission ($150+HST per Prestige Award submission). Payment can be made via cheque, VISA, MC or e-transfer; please mail cheque(s) to 7 Clair Road West, P.O. Box 27075, Guelph ON N1L 0A6. E-transfer can be sent to: mjonker@ghhba.com

  • Include electronic copy of current corporate logo for production as your first photo for each category you submit
  • One cheque may be submitted for the total amount if entering in more than one category
  • ***For any marketing material, please ensure your photos are high-quality as no material will be mailed to the judges
  • Medium density is semis, towns, stacked units under 6 storeys
  • Mid-High is apartment style condos 4+levels
  • An “Additional Residential Dwelling Unit” means a Dwelling Unit that is self-contained, subordinate to and located within the same Building or on the same Lot of a primary Dwelling Unit. They are often referred to as “accessory apartments”, “basement apartments” or “in-law suites”.

Photographs

Photographs submitted as part of the entry requirements will become the property of GHHBA and used in the following way:

  • To complement the submission package
  • In the production process
  • As part of the award recognition

Deadline

  • All entries including fees, pictures, etc. must be received no later than 11:59 pm on February 2, 2026. 
  • The committee reserves the right to extend the deadline for a specific category and solicit additional entries in the event that there are less than 3 entries in a given category. The committee also reserves the right to split categories in the event of a large number of entries in any one category. 
  • You will be notified the following week if any submissions are incomplete or if any categories have been cancelled or need extra entries

Awards Night

  • The Annual President's Dinner and Awards of Distinction will be held in April. Date and location TBD
  • Ticket information and sponsorship information will be sent out shortly

Judging Format

  • Judges are qualified individuals selected from outside the GHHBA
  • The individuals are knowledgeable in the many disciplines of home construction, design, and advertising.
  • Judging will take place during February
  • Judges do not perform site visits

Final Notes

  • GHHBA reserves the right to disqualify incomplete submissions without notice or refund
  • If there are fewer than three entries in any category, GHHBA reserves the right to eliminate that category from the competition
  • Refunds will be given to those who have entered a cancelled category
  • All entrants agree to be bound by these stipulations
